Updates for our FCC family

Jan. 7, 2021
2021 is here!

Greetings FCC family!

Happy New Year to you and yours. We just wanted to make you aware of a few things happening here at Fellowship.

  1. Children's Ministries - we are excited to announce that beginning this Sunday (January 10th), we will have children's programming available for all ages during the 10:30am service! Birth through 5th grade will have something just for them each Sunday moving forward. For now, only nursery will be available during the 9:00am service.
  2. Giving Statements - We're working to move over the 2020 giving data from our old system into Planning Center and that will be finished in the next several days. Once that is finished, we will generate giving statements for you and email you with a link to download that report. Please be sure that we have your current (and preferred) email address and physical address!
  3. Church Building Closure - The FCC building will be closed Monday, January 11 through Friday, January 15 as our HVAC units get replaced. That means next week Youth will be meeting off-site and there will be no Thursday Prayer Meeting.
  4. Welcome Team - The church is a family where we all chip in to help out. Why not help here at FCC by welcoming people to worship each Sunday morning? It's a one-month commitment that allows you to meet new people, learn names, and help your brothers and sisters in Jesus prepare their hearts for worship. If intrigued, contact me at or 303.928.7103.

That's it for now from the staff here at FCC. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out and let me know. Now, let's get out there and invite all generations and all cultures to share life together so that we all may be transformed by the power of Jesus!

Merry Christmas, FCC Family!

2021 is just around the corner and I know a lot of us are hoping next year will be better. But before we put all our hope in the turning of a calendar page, let's remember and celebrate the one who set the days in order in the first place! So, come out and join us for Christmas Eve services tomorrow, December 24 at 2:30pm and 4:00pm. Unfortunately, there will be no childcare available, but we will keep the services brief to honor our children and parents. The service will be live streamed and then available for you to watch at your convenience on the YouTube channel

And don't forget - Sunday services are back to "normal." That means each Sunday you can join the church family at 9:00am or 10:30am for worship. As a refresher, here's what is happening at each hour:

  • 9:00am - ABF, Youth, Worship, Nursery through 2 years old.
  • 10:30am - Worship, Nursery through 2 years old, and Children's programming for 3-5 year olds.

Lastly, just a couple of notes. Our Thursday prayer meeting will not meet again until January 7, and the new HVAC units are going to start going in January 11!

Thank you for walking through this last year together with us. May God be glorified in our worship of him, and may He remind us of the hope we have in Him and Him alone this Christmas season.

In-Person Worship Services Cancelled for December 13, 2020

Dear brothers and sisters of FCC,

Last week, we started our journey through Advent and considered the way God likes to surprise us with his glory. Interruptions to our usual routines can be incredibly irritating but they can also be the door to great blessings. The birth of Jesus is the epitome of that.

Well, God has asked us to put into practice what we're preaching. This past Monday, Pastor Rick started feeling ill. A test on Tuesday confirmed he has COVID. We ask for your prayers for his health and for the health of his family.

No In-person Services this Sunday, December 13
Since Pastor was present this past Sunday, December 6, in order to help protect the health of our congregation and prevent the unintentional spread of the disease, we will not have in-person services this Sunday, December 13. That includes youth, ABF, worship and nursery. The staff and elders don't want this to become the norm, but feel it is wise given the circumstances. Please join us online at 9am and 10:30am for worship this Sunday.

Additionally, our regular Thursday prayer gathering will not meet tonight.

Lord willing, we will be back together next Sunday, December 20 at the usual times of 9:00am & 10:30am as we head into the week of Christmas.

Christmas Eve Services
Speaking of Christmas, Christmas Eve services will be held on Thursday, December 24 at 2:30pm and 4:00pm. For those not able to make it, we will livestream the 2:30pm Christmas Eve service and then make it available for you to watch at your convenience.

We've been very blessed thus far to be able to gather together in person for worship. However, our God is a God who loves surprising us with his glory. These interruptions can be an opportunity for us to go back to him and find our real joy in who He is!

Grace and peace,
David Carter

Service Time Change

Greetings FCC Family,
We're well into the holiday season now; I hope you and yours are finding reason to praise God today. Here are a couple of updates from us here at Fellowship:

1) Service Time Change - Beginning Sunday, December 13 (that's a week from this Sunday), we are going back to our original service schedules of 9:00am & 10:30am. That's right, we finally got there. Way to go, everyone! Just to be clear - beginning Sunday, December 13, Sunday services will begin at 9:00am and 10:30am. So that means:

  • At 9:00am we will have worship services, Adult Bible Fellowship, youth, and nursery through 2 years old.
  • At 10:30am we will have worship services and nursery through 2 years old (with more coming soon!)

2) Unexpected Blessing Videos - 2020 has been a challenging year for pretty much all of us. But in the midst of the challenge, there have been so many beautiful blessings and surprises. As we get ready to celebrate Christmas, we'd like to hear about your Unexpected Blessings. Please record a short video - less than a minute long - about that Unexpected Blessing and send it to me ( or send via text to 720.837.6048). We'll share those stories with the church in our Sunday worship as we get closer to Christmas.

3) Looking for Big Smiles - Did you know it takes 20-30 people to host each worship service? That means most Sundays, almost 30 percent of the people present are serving in some capacity. That is AMAZING! Don't miss out on the blessing it is to move from spectating to serving. Why not consider helping welcome people each Sunday morning for the month of December? If interested, please contact me at or 720.837.6048.

I am so thankful we still get to gather together in worship week after week. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

God bless!

Moving to "Red"

Greetings brothers and sisters of Fellowship!

Happy Holidays to you! As we head into what is likely to be quite a different holiday season, it is so good to be able to know that our Heavenly Father is sovereign over all of it and to be able to worship Him together with you - whether that is online or in person.

You may be aware that Arapahoe County will move to "Red/Level 4" this Friday. We wanted you, our family, to know what that means for Sunday morning gatherings here at Fellowship:

We Will Continue to Hold In-Person Worship & Livestream

No change here! Current guidelines state we can fit 25% or 50 max in each room. We will continue to hold in-person worship services at 8:30am and 10:30am, live-streaming both services for those who cannot be with us physically. With the reduced number of people allowed in the Sanctuary, though, we will be sure to pay careful attention to participation and, if necessary, we will add a 3rd service.

Please Be Sure to Check-in

We are going to take a break from asking you to pre-register for worship services. Instead, just be sure to check-in and let us know you were here. (Here's a short tutorial on how to do just that.) The few moments you take to check-in this week, whether you are here at FCC or worshiping with us online, helps us stay connected as a church family. Check in via the Church Center app or ask one of our Welcome Team to help you when you arrive.

What's Available

Over the past several months, we've worked to offer additional opportunities for our church family to share life together. Here's what will be available each Sunday until further notice:

  • Worship
  • Adult Bible Fellowship
  • Nursery (through 2 years old)
  • Youth

  • Worship
  • Nursery (through 2 years old)

Our Children's staff is working on plans to provide Children's programming at the 10:30am service soon. One of the biggest needs right now is volunteers. If you'd be willing to share the love of Jesus with a child in a classroom setting, please contact Dave Bruscher ( )

A Final Request

2020 has been a challenging year for pretty much all of us. But in the midst of the challenge, there have been so many beautiful blessings and surprises. As we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas in the coming months, we'd like to hear about your Unexpected Blessings. If you'd like, record a short video - less than a minute long - about that Unexpected Blessing and send it to me ( ). We'll share those stories with the church in our Sunday worship as we get close to Christmas.

As always, it is such a joy to serve you as one of your pastors. Thank you for that privilege!
