Encourage0gram for February 2, 2021

Greetings Brothers and Sisters!

The a groundhog named "Phil" predicted six more weeks of winter.  This was not surprising since it had been snowing for days in Pennsylvania.  I am not convinced that his prediction is accurate.  However, I am certain that Jesus' predictions will come true!

NIV Revelation 22:18-21
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. 20 He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen.

It is a blessing to believe this truth!  Jesus will come again to the earth!  He will reign on the earth!  He will see that justice comes!

Just prior to the rise of Adolph Hitler in the 1930's in Germany, Dietrich Bonhoeffer delivered an emotional sermon.  Here is a short quote of his words:   "the church will not be taken from us--it's name is decision, its name is discerning of the spirits . . . Come you who have been left alone, you who have lost the church, let us return to Holy Writ, let us go forth and seek the church together . . . For the times, which are time of collapse to the human understanding may well be for her a great time of building . . .  Church remain a church, . . . Confess!  Confess! Confess!"

This is a timely message for all seasons!  Today we must remain a church.  A gathering of those who confess our precious faith. Believers who live out the gospel in words and in deeds.  O Lord, send revival to your people!  We yearn to be people of faith until the day when you arrive on the Mount of Olives!

I hope these brief words will inspire us today to walk by faith and not by sight!
