Encouragement while on vacation
Vacation is in part for a time to read for me. I have read several good books The Red Sea Rules by Robert Morgan,
The Cross of Christ by John Stott and Reflections on the Cross by J I Packer as well as the GOOD BOOK.
As I was reading David Platt's "Follow Me" my heart was strangely warmed. I may not agree with every statement but the major premise is life transforming!
Jesus said, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."
The book concludes with a simple strategy for making your own disciple-making plan.
I urge you to prayerfully consider reading this book It may bring joy to your soul and eternal purpose to your life.
Along with Platt's book, I have been meditating on Paul's letter to the church at Philippi.
ESV Philippians 1:6-8
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.
Plan to read God's Word, to study it, meditate on it and memorize it. God speaks to us through His Holy Word.
Then go to others to share what God has taught you! And may we all by God's grace live out the truth we have learned.
prayers and blessings to each of you!
