Fellow Followers of Jesus,
Today we continue to look closely at the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of Jesus on earth. Jesus was sealed by the Holy Spirit.
John 6:27 NIV
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.
The seal on Jesus demonstrates He is truly the Savior sent from God the Father. The Father’s approval of Jesus inspires us to believe on Him and trust His teaching. Through His words we are compelled (by love) to obey and glorify our Lord.
Paul says we, as believers, are also sealed with the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ sealing was unique but our identity and security are affirmed in our sealing.
Ephesians 1:13-14 NIV
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession– to the praise of his glory.
The seal of the Spirit, which we received, is proof that we belong to God and He will give us an inheritance by His grace! We belong to our Lord forever.
Our belonging in Christ compels us (by love) to pray for the lost and share the gospel in our community, in our family, in our school, in our work. The Lord is active and saving souls in this moment. In faith, we anticipate celebrating salvation and baptism in our community at an outdoor Baptism Service in July 2026 to the praise of His glory. God’s heart is for each one.
