WHY DO WE GATHER AS A CHURCH?
The word Jesus used for church was “ekklesia” which means “gathering.” By nature, the church is a group of people Christ has gathered together who, through their love and unity, reveal the manifold glory of God to a watching world (Eph. 3:10). It’s when we gather together that we get to fulfill the “one another” commands (like Jn. 13:34-35). It's when we gather together that those God has given the church to teach and lead can equip us for the work of ministry Jesus calls us to (Eph. 4:11-12). It’s when we gather together that we are reminded Jesus is Lord, the gospel is real, and we receive the encouragement we need to follow Jesus while we are scattered back to homes, schools, and workplaces (Heb. 10:24-25). The fact of the matter is I need you and you need me if we want to follow Jesus. I need to see you singing when I don’t want to sing. You need to hear me talk about my experiences with Jesus when you are struggling to feel Christ’s love. And so we gather together as the church to be the church.

MISSIONS MOMENT | Bill & Diane Stewart
Please join us in the important work of praying for our FCC missionaries! This week, we remember Bill & Diane Stewart who serve with IMD International developing training materials for ministry leaders around the world. Here's how you can be praying for them this week:
- Praise God for the opportunity to go to Mexico and Egypt in 2024!
- Due to health issues, they had to cancel a November trip to Northern Africa. Please pray for resolution of these health problems and that they can reschedule the event for February or March 2025.
- Pray that Bill will be able to finish the new training materials he is currently working on.
- Pray for ministry opportunities for Diane, as she has many contacts in Heather Gardens.
Thank you for interceding for Bill and Diane!
ABF Series | Sundays, 9a | Rm. 2/3
Prayer Gathering | Tuesdays, 6p | Prayer Room
Unite in prayer for half-an-hour (or more) on Tuesdays. We are encouraged by this weekly opportunity to bond with brothers and sisters in Christ in the presence of the Lord through prayer.
New Members | Your Feedback Requested
We have several families seeking membership with FCC! Steve Day, Betsy Hatcher, Alan & Cheri Kressin, and Jason & Sarah Livingston. The elders have interviewed them and heartily recommend them for membership. In accordance with our by-laws, our elders ask that if you know of any Scriptural reason these people should not be received into membership to please let them know. Speak to an elder or email elders@fcchurch.org with feedback. Thank you for making membership matter!
Giving Tree
The Giving Tree is set up in the foyer with “ornaments.” You can take an ornament and then purchase a $10, $20, or $30 gift card(s) at Walmart, Target, or King Soopers. Please indicate the amount of the gift card (s) and return the card(s) back to the church. Drop the gift card(s) in the secured box located by the Giving Tree, no later than December 15th. Thank you for blessing another family this Christmas!
Special Christmas Offering
To show appreciation and honor our staff's dedication and service, the Elders invite you to give a special gift this Christmas. Please use the Special Offering envelopes at the Connection Center or select “Staff Appreciation” online. Thank you for blessing our staff! Today is the final day to give.
Church Office Closed | Dec. 25th through Jan. 3rd
The church offices and building will be closed for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Enjoy this time with family and friends!
