WHY DO WE DO THAT?

WHY DO WE GIVE AN OFFERING?

As Christians, we recognize that God is the author of all things, the Creator of all things, and the owner of all things (Ps. 24:1). Anything we have, we have because God has entrusted it to us as stewards. The owner of everything, God, wants us to manage what He gives us (time, talent, and treasure) in a way that will honor and glorify Him. One of the ways we do that is by offering our first and our best (our “tithe”) to God to further Kingdom work. And so, we give to the church so that families can be cared for, mission work can be supported, and the gospel can go forth in our community.
But we also give as an act of worship. When we cheerfully and sacrificially give, we express our dependence upon God to provide & our desire for his Kingdom to come. We consecrate ourselves, our livelihoods, to the Lord so that we might think as He thinks, know what He knows, and live as He tells us to live.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

MISSIONS MOMENT | FORGE Youth Northern Ireland Mission Trip

In July, our youth served with Salt Factory Sports and local churches in Islandmagee, Northern Ireland. Please pray for these communities to be reached with the Gospel of Jesus and for the work God began in our students to continue. Thank you for partnering with the mission of Jesus in the world!

AWANA Registration Opens | Sun., Aug. 30, 4p
ABF: The Christian Life | Beginning Sun., Sep. 6, 9a | Rm. 2/3

Join us for 8 weeks looking at the Christian life - the resources we have and the things to avoid - led by Bill Stewart.

ABF: The Tech-Wise Family | Beginning Sun., Sep. 13, 9a | Rm. 21

Smartphones, social media, gaming, and constant connectivity are reshaping childhood...and us. For 4 weeks, we'll explore what research and Christian thinkers can teach us about technology's effects on relationships, attention, mental health, and faith. We'll consider practical ways to help kids develop healthier digital habits, examine our own digital habits, and become more present to God and one another.

Looking for Community? Check out a Life Group!

If you're looking for a group to share LIFE with, check out a LIFE Group! Groups are starting back up after the summer. NEW Groups: a young family group led by the Guys on Fridays and a group starting Aug. 26 led by the Gates meeting at FCC Wednesday nights. For more, check out fcchurch.org/groups or contact David (dcarter@fcchurch.org/303.928.7102).

Love Jesus? Love Children? We're in search of a Children's Ministry Director!

Are you interested in inviting children and their families to share LIFE together so they might be transformed by the power of Jesus? Do you know someone who is? Fellowship is in search of a Children's Ministry Director to do just that. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. A job description can be found on the Generations board in the lobby, or downloaded here. Interested persons can email info@fcchurch.org. Thank you for praying for God's provision while we search!

Elder Recommendations for 2027

The Elders request your help as we start looking to 2027. If you know of a man who is currently a formal partner of FCC, already "elder-ing" (shepherding, making disciples, caring for the people of FCC), and meets the qualifications of an elder found in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1, would you recommend him to the current Elders? Send your recommendation to elders@fcchurch.org or at www.fcchurch.org/elderrec. Thank you for your support and assistance in raising up leaders in our community!

Collection for Thrive

Missionary women often serve in places where the simple comforts of home are hard to come by. Our Women’s Ministry is supporting Thrive retreats by collecting ONLY 12 oz bags of Nestlé semi sweet chocolate chips—a small, familiar treat to bring a warm taste of home. We are hoping to collect 85 bags. Please consider donating a bag at the Connection Center to bless these women with a little sweetness and a lot of love.

Prayer Room | Sundays, 9a-10:15a | Prayer Room

The Lord has set in motion a desire to pray on Sunday mornings during first service. The Prayer Room door is open for anyone to engage in prayer and pursue the presence of God with others.
