Benediction
WHAT IS A BENEDICTION?
The benediction is a blessing spoken as the final word by a minister at the end of a worship gathering. It expresses our hope and confidence in God’s grace to His people that enables us to walk with Him through whatever we face in this life.
The benedictions we use come directly from Scripture or are based on Scripture. They are not only a way of closing our services but are a final work of prayer offered for the church.
Following the example of Jesus (Luke 24:50), the pastor will raise his hand during the benediction; however, we ask that you keep your head raised instead of bowing. That way, we go forth with eyes up and forward, ready to be about the work Christ has commissioned us to!

MISSIONS MOMENT | Paul & Kelly Stewart
This week, we want to pray for Paul & Kelly Stewart. Paul and Kelly minister with Wycliffe in Papua New Guinea. Paul is an aircraft mechanic and Kelly is a school administrator. Here's how you can be praying for them this week:
- Pray for their daughter, Piper, who is now living in the USA. Pray for this transition for their family of having an adult child living across the world!
- Pray for Paul as he works with training new staff and working through major transitions in the PNG Aviation department.
- Praise that Kelly taught a theatre class and directed a play. She is having fun but ready to only be the vice principal again.
- Praise for God's continued provision for all they need

Looking for a group to dig deep into the Bible with? Be a part of our Adult Bible Fellowship! A new series begins Sun., May 3, with Stephen Forcey leading us through the book of Zechariah, a book that contains the clearest and largest number of messianic prophecies among the Minor Prophets, both First and Second Comings. We will be celebrating with our graduating seniors on May 9th. As a gift for them, please consider writing a note of encouragement or blessing. Cards & boxes are in the lobby until May 10th.

For Mother’s Day, take a moment at our table to write a card as a gift to your mom, as a note for a woman who encourages you, as a remembrance for a mom not in your life anymore, or as a prayer to God about your experiences with motherhood.
OCC May Collection
For Operation Christmas Child, we are bringing in NEW clothes in May. Imagine a child's delight to find shoes, flip-flops, socks, T-shirts, shorts, pants, underwear. Pick up a complete list at the Connection Center. Keep in mind the size of the shoe box when selecting your gift. Thank you for blessing a child with new clothes and the Good News!
