WHY DO WE DO THAT?
WHY DO WE TAKE COMMUNION?
Communion, “The Lord’s Supper,” is a tradition given to the church by Jesus Christ which calls us to remember his death on the cross until he returns again. It is a unique and beautiful way of preaching the gospel through symbols - the broken bread symbolizes his body, the cup symbolizes his shed blood - just as Jesus described it at the Last Supper. Reserved for believers and intended to be done regularly until Christ returns, we take Communion on the first Sunday of each month and on other special occasions. In doing so, we preach the gospel to ourselves and to one another. All confessing believers in Jesus are invited to participate in the Lord’s Table with us, but God’s Word cautions us against taking Communion lightly. We are told to examine ourselves before we eat the bread and drink the cup - then we can celebrate our salvation in Christ with joy!

MISSIONS MOMENT | Scott & Mary Petersen
You are invited to pray for our FCC missionaries. These next two weeks we want to remember Scott & Mary Petersen who serve among refugees here in the Denver area. Here is how you can be praying for them this week:
- Thanks to God for the safe and healthy birth of their new grandson, Rio.
- Praise they attended the 75th Anniversary of Cru, Campus Crusade for Christ, and for how God used this movement in their lives.
- Pray for open doors and ongoing relationships with refugees in the Denver area as we distribute holiday food packets to at least 50 needy refugee families in the North and South Metro Denver area.
- Pray for open doors to gospel conversations at the School of Mines where Scott serves as a table host for weekly lunch.
- Pray for strength and wisdom for Mary, who has a heavy travel schedule as the facilitator for the Global Leadership team of Cru.

Lead Pastor Search Committee
After years of faithful service, Pastor Rick has discerned God calling him to a new season, and we release him to that season with thankful hearts. Pastor Rick will lead in his current role until May 30, 2027. Until Oct. 31, we invite FCC partners to suggest names for the eight lay positions on the Search Committee. Adult Bible Fellowships in November | Sundays, 9a
Pursue transformation by the power of Jesus as you BEHOLD Him and have your mind RENEWED by him in an Adult Bible Fellowship. In November, we have two options for you at 9am:
The Life and Ministry of Peter (Rm. 2/3) - Join John Granger for an 8-week look at the life and ministry of the Apostle Peter, a man deeply transformed by Jesus and his discipline.
The Whole Story of Scripture (Rm. 21) - Tom Zornes is walking through the Story of Scripture from various angles. This ABF is particularly useful for parents as it mirrors the content our kids and youth are learning.
Love Jesus? Love Children? We're in search of a Children's Ministry Director!
Are you interested in inviting children and their families to share LIFE together so they might be transformed by the power of Jesus? Do you know someone who is? Fellowship is in search of a Children's Ministry Director to do just that. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. The Lord has set in motion a desire to pray on Sunday mornings during first service. The Prayer Room door is open for anyone to engage in prayer and pursue the presence of God with others.
