Benediction
WHAT IS A BENEDICTION?
The benediction is a blessing spoken as the final word by a minister at the end of a worship gathering. It expresses our hope and confidence in God’s grace to his people that enables us to walk with Him through whatever we face in this life.
The benedictions we use come directly from Scripture or are based on Scripture, and aren’t only a way of closing our services but are a final work of prayer offered for the church.
Following the example of Jesus (Luke 24:50), the pastor will raise his hand during the benediction; however, we ask that you keep your head raised instead of bowing as if to receive a blessing. That way, we go forth with eyes up and forward, ready to be about the work Christ has commissioned us to!

MISSIONS MOMENT | Brandon & Angie Johnson
Please join us in the important work of praying for our FCC missionaries! This week, we want to pray for Brandon & Angie Johnson, who are based in Cyprus with Youth for Christ.
Here's how you can be praying for them this week:

- Praise God for the camp experience with their youth and young adults!
- Praise God for the teens who wanted to share their story and are taking up the call to be disciple-makers.
- Pray for Brandon’s intense travel schedule through the fall, for smooth travel, and for God to use him in all the meetings he will have.
- Pray for Anna starting university in the Netherlands this September. Pray she finds a good church community and good friends as she settles in.
Thank for you remembering our missionaries in prayer this week.

Serve Somewhere | August Challenge
As we seek to make progress in our walk with Jesus, the challenge for August is to Serve Somewhere. If you aren't already serving in a ministry, we want to help you find a place to plug in. Sign up at the Connection Center, online at fcchurch.org/servesomewhere, or via the Church Center App Events page, and one of our Elders will get a hold of you and help connect you with a ministry opportunity. Use your gifts to edify the body of Christ and see how He grows you this season!

Come on Saturdays in Aug. & Sept. beginning Aug. 10 for workshop-style gatherings with Betty, our Chief Gardener. Topics include: garden planning, soil health, pruning, watering/feeding/pests, harvesting and seed collecting, perennials, companion planting, cucumbers and squashes, tomatoes, and end of-season garden care.
