WHAT IS BAPTISM?
When Jesus commissioned his disciples to “make disciples of all nations,” he also told them to “baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matt. 28:19.) Baptism marks a change in a person’s life; a change of allegiance. Originally, baptism wasn’t distinctly Christian; other religions would baptize as well. What matters is what a person is baptized into. When a person professes Jesus as their Lord, the local church baptizes them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This public act displays a person’s new allegiance to their Savior, Jesus. However, there’s no magic power in this act; it’s simply an outward rite signifying an inward reality. We baptize by immersion, following the example of Scripture, and that process beautifully pictures spiritual reality - a person who trusts in Jesus is buried with Jesus and then raised to newness of life. In baptism, we celebrate the change Jesus has brought about in a person’s life - bringing them from death to life! So, let’s celebrate today!

MISSIONS MOMENT | Christian Paetsch
Join us in praying for our missionaries each week. Christian Paetsch is one of our missionaries serving as Director of TUMI Colorado which equips men and women with theological training. Here's how you can be praying for him:
- Pray for our many programs: Seminary, Trauma Healing, Onesimus Workshop, Prison Ministry (DRDC, DWCF, FCI Englewood)
- Pray for status change at DRDC as the process with prisons is very slow
- Pray for our many board members and for perseverance and strength for Chaplain Kris and myself
- Pray for funding to help go full-time in the ministry and for serving USA funds to come in
- Pray for volunteers to help with publications, email announcements, social media, and office assistance.

Operation Christmas Child | July & August Collection
It's School Supplies in July and August! Sales will pop up for school necessities: pencils, pens, erasers, pencil sharpeners, crayons, coloring markers, paper, scissors, and more. These are necessary items for a child to attend school in some areas. Always remember: the gospel goes forth with each and every box we send! Thank you for your generosity!
Request: Service Opportunities for Boys
FCC Family - do you have some service projects around your home that boys (7-13) could help with? Or maybe you have a neighbor or know a widow who could use some help? Our Fathers in the Field ministry is looking for opportunities for Mentor Fathers and their Field Buddies to serve widows and the church community. If you have a project, please contact Maggie Fuller (fathersinthefield@fcchurch.org).
