WHY DO WE HAVE FAMILY WORSHIP?
On 5th Sundays, we encourage families - and all the generations - to worship together. By taking a week off of children, youth, and adult programs, we try to make the decision to worship together as the church easy for families. Why? Several years ago, Fuller Youth Institute launched the College Transition Project with the goal to find the one thing that would develop long-term faith in youth. They didn’t find the silver bullet, but one thing they did find was that involvement in all-church worship during high school is more consistently linked with mature faith in the future than any other form of church participation. But then, that shouldn’t be surprising consider what God said in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (go give it a quick read). The immediate family and the intergenerational family of faith is God’s plan for passing on love, belief, and obedience to the Triune God. So, we gather together - as all generations - in order that the next generation might catch sight of the goodness, majesty, and sufficiency of God.

COMING UP AT FELLOWSHIP
MISSIONS MOMENT | Connie Porter
Please join us in the important work of praying for our FCC missionaries. These next two weeks we want to focus on Connie Porter in Pagosa Springs, Colorado serving with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Here are ways you can be praying:
- Praise the Lord for His continuous strength & peace for Connie the last five months since Frank went home to be with the Lord. Pray for her as she is actively involved in ministry reaching children for Christ in Southwest CO.
- Pray for her ongoing ministry training youth & adults to reach children in Good News Clubs, Summer Clubs, & ministries in local churches. Much of this training is through online seminars. (At the Connection Center, pick up a flyer concerning upcoming seminars!)
- Pray for her as she promotes training of teachers of young children, our most receptive mission field.

The Lord has set in motion a desire to pray on Sunday mornings during first service. The Prayer Room door is open for anyone to engage in prayer and pursue the presence of God with others.

Looking for a group to dig deep into the Bible with? Be a part of our Adult Bible Fellowship! A new series begins Sun., May 3, with Stephen Forcey leading us through the book of Zechariah, a book that contains the clearest and largest number of messianic prophecies among the Minor Prophets, both First and Second Comings. Zechariah is a key text in biblical prophecy. For more about the ABF, contact Tab Crane (tacrane@comcast.net).

Today is a fifth Sunday and that means Family Worship! No children/youth programs or ABF. We’ll worship together as the family of God. Nursery is available.
Pantry Express | Sun., Jun. 7 | Kitchen
Support those in need of a little extra help here in our community and bring non-perishable, non-expired food items on Jun. 7th. Today, pick up a shopping list at the Connection Center. Food items will only be collected on Jun. 7th.

We are ready for an exploration trek at VBS! Mark your calendar - online registration opens Mon., June 1st. We'll need lots of teammates this year; would you pray about serving? Scout out opportunities on the signup board in the Lobby or on Church Center.

For Operation Christmas Child, we are bringing in NEW clothes in May. Imagine a child's delight to find shoes, flip-flops, socks, T-shirts, shorts, pants, underwear. Pick up a complete list at the Connection Center. Keep in mind the size of the shoe box when selecting your gift. Thank you for blessing a child with new clothes and the Good News!
