Baptism @ Cherry Creek Reservoir

Sunday, July 12, 2026

Overview

We’re excited for our first ever Baptism at the Res event! All year, while we’ve pursued partnership together, we’ve been praying God would move in a mighty way, drawing people to Himself and using us to do so - as we partnered with Jesus and became more like him, as we partnered with one another as His church and supported one another in becoming like Jesus, and as we have partnered together in the good gospel work. On July 12, we’ll gather together to celebrate those Jesus has saved and who wish to follow Him in obedience by being baptized!

Come to worship at FCC, as usual, on Sunday, July 12. After worship, you’re invited to head to the Cherry Creek State Park. Park passes will be available after services, and hot dogs will be ready for you when you get there, or bring a picnic lunch for you and your family. We’ll give time for those who want to make it to arrive, then head to the water for the baptisms. Afterwards, we’ll celebrate with a time of prayer. Then, we will hang around to fellowship and enjoy the park!

There are some important details to note, so be sure to read through the entire page. We’ve tried to anticipate issues, but as this is the first time we’ve attempted something like this, please give grace as we learn what we don’t know.

Directions

Cherry Creek State Park is an incredibly popular destination, particularly on weekends. Once the park reaches capacity, they do stop letting more vehicles in. PLEASE carpool with others to increase the chances of making it for the afternoon.

We will meet at the Dixon Grove Pavilion on the Northeast side of the reservoir. There are two small parking lots nearby along with street parking. From the north-most parking lot there is a concrete path both to the pavilion and to the bathrooms. The reservoir beachfront is about 50-75 yds from the pavilion. The pavilion has multiple picnic benches, but seating is relatively limited, so bring those camp chairs just in case!
