Higher Requests

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We are on an exciting journey together! We are learning to partner with God and each other. Prayer is vital to this union in Christ!

Philippians 1:10-11 NIV
so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ– to the glory and praise of God.

Here are the intended results:

1. Discernment – Paul expects God to reveal the best for them as they make decisions. When circumstances are put into the fire, impurities can be drawn out. Then God’s best will be revealed.
2. Purity & Blamelessness – Jesus returning on His Day! When He does, our lives will be evaluated. In Christ we are blameless and we can live lives of purity. 
3. Spiritual Fruit – Paul expects spiritual fruit will be seen in them. They will act righteously as the Holy Spirit works in and through them. What a blessed inheritance we have in Christ!

I hope today’s thoughts will transform our intercessory prayers. We need to reach for higher requests. We pray with confidence because we know God continues His work in us!

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
