For August 2025 we are memorizing Paul’s prayer from Philippians chapter one! This prayer will be the backdrop to our sermons this month. Let’s take a look into the introduction of this letter as Paul shares his prayers for this church.
Philippians 1:3-5
I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,
I am excited to read about the prayers of the Apostle Paul for this church. His example humbles me to pray more, not less, for the flock at FCC.
He begins with a confession of his thanks to God for them! When is the last time you thanked God for a brother or sister in Christ? If you did thank God for them, did you tell them? This is such a great way to encourage one another! His memories spark his prayers.
He adds that these prayers are with a constant sense of JOY! Once again let me meddle a bit: Do you express joy to others?
Why not sit down right now and pray with thanks for someone! Then write them a text or note to express your thanks to God for them.
Be encouraged as you encourage others!
