Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In Ephesians 3:14-15, we observed Paul on his knees praying to our Father for the entire forever family. What an exciting introduction to his prayer! Today we will see the security everyone in His family has in Christ.
Ephesians 3:16-17a NIV
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
Jesus Christ does dwell in our hearts by faith! This is a fact which begins the moment we trust in Jesus as our Savior He indwells us by the Spirit of God who was sent to us from the Father and the Son. The Spirit is the third Person of the eternal tri-unity in the Godhead. One God who exists in three co-equal persons.
Since we are indwelt by God, we have absolute security in Him. He is the One who gives us everything we will ever need for life and godliness. (See 2 Peter 1:3-4). His power flows into us out of his infinite riches! This is His work in us, in our inner being.
This prayer is not a wish; it is a fact! The challenge is to pray positively for God’s power to be working in and through us. Pray that God who indwells us will be at home in us. Embrace the Holy Spirit who lives in you!
