Alan Prais

Elder

LIFE STORY

Alan was born in Chicago, Illinois. Because of his father’s job, by the time Alan was 18 he had lived in six different states and Canada. He attended California State College at Long Beach where he majored in Business Administration. It was during his sophomore year that he came to know Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior through the ministry of Athletes in Action.

After graduation, Alan spent two years with Campus Crusade for Christ on a college campus, sharing Christ with college students. He then went to Talbot Seminary in Southern California receiving his Master of Divinity degree in New Testament Greek. He has pastored two churches and served on the staff of four others during 46 years in full-time ministry before retiring. He also was a volunteer chaplain for 10 years for the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department in Michigan.

He and his wife Carol were married in 1973 and have enjoyed 48 years together. They have two grown children, Mark and Christy. They are grandparents, with one grandson named Dominic.

In 2016 Alan and Carol moved from Michigan to Aurora to be close to their family and joined Fellowship Community Church. Alan has served as an elder since 2018.

HOPE FOR FELLOWSHIP

My hope for Fellowship Community Church is that we will be people who are living out God’s truth daily as we share God’s love with others through our words and actions.
