Dear fellow faith walkers,
Today, we dive into truth found in Psalm 16:3. David is celebrating with joy over the fellowship he has experienced with God’s people!
Psalm 16:3 NIV
I say of the holy people who are in the land,
“They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
Fellow believers are called saints or holy people. They embrace the Savior and are clothed in His perfect righteousness; therefore, they are saints! We are saints by faith in Jesus our Savior. When God looks upon a faith walker, His holy eyes see the righteousness of His Son.
According to Romans 4:4-5, His righteousness has been imputed to us immediately when we place our trust in Him. This perfect righteousness is not a wage we earn but a free gift we receive!
Romans 4:4-5 NIV
Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.
It makes sense then that we should view our fellow believers as saints! How would your view of others be transformed if you saw them as fellow saints in God’s holy family?
David continues by saying that these saints are noble. They are lofty, at the top of his list. They are leaders who can be trusted and loved.
He concludes by claiming that these holy people give him delight. The verb to delight is used often of God’s pleasure, as in Psalm 18:19.
Psalm 18:19 NIV
He brought me out into a spacious place;
he rescued me because he delighted in me.
If God delights in us, why not delight in others? Take time today to express your delight in someone! Give thanks to God for bringing that person into your life.
Be encouraged,
Pastor Rick
