Christmas Clock

Yesterday I received a gift – a day timer!  This annual gift has help me plan and schedule my days. It has also been a valuable tool to keep me accountable as I record how I invested time each day.

Time is an interesting gift from God, isn’t it?  We know that God is eternal, yet He Sovereignly watches over us. We want Him to direct our steps.   I met a dear woman many years ago in a nursing home who reminded me that “God is never late and never early! He is always right on time!” This is sound theology!

Paul reminds us that Jesus came to Bethlehem right on time.

Galatians 4:4
But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son.

The adverb “fully” suggest that the season was perfectly suited for this gift to be given. There are many reasons why the time had fully come. The Romans were ruling their empire in peace, the common language spoken everywhere was Koine Greek, the Romans had provided many ways to travel safely, and Joseph was betrothed to Mary in Nazareth.

As you seek to fill your busy schedule this season, keep in mind your times are in His Hands. Pray over your schedule and leave time for those divine appointments you might think are interruptions!

In His Timeby Maranatha! Music
In his time, in his time
He makes all things beautiful
In his time

Lord, please show me everyday
As you’re teaching me your way
That you do just what you say
In your time

In your time, in your time
You make all things beautiful
In your time

Lord my life to you I bring
May each song I have to sing
Be to you a lovely thing
In your time

Be Encouraged,
Pastor Rick
