Dear friends and family,
We have reached the fourth attitude in Philip Keller’s book, “A Shepherd Looks at the Twenty-third Psalm.” These attitudes help us to experience the promise we find in Psalm 23:3, “He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”
4.) “Instead of being ‘boss’, I am willing to be at the bottom of the heap.”
When we desire first and foremost to please our Lord, we are free to serve others in any possible way. We find great pleasure in self-sacrifice and discover that doing things right to benefit others is wonderful! Conversely, when we want to always be on top, we find ourselves overwhelmed with a sense of not achieving our self-made goals and aspirations. We often become angry at God and others. Our vision is blurred by our own ambitions.
Today, make wise choices to help others and leave the results and recognition to our Shepherd! He is carefully recording every sacrifice we choose and will reward us at the bema seat of Christ!
2 Corinthians 5:9-10 NIV
[9] So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. [10] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Live in the encouragement of your Savior!
