WHY DO WE GIVE AN OFFERING?
As Christians, we recognize that God is the author of all things, the Creator of all things, and the owner of all things (Ps. 24:1). Anything we have, we have because God has entrusted it to us as stewards. As the owner of everything, God wants us to manage what He gives us (time, talent, and treasure) in a way that will honor and glorify Him. One of the ways we do that is by offering our first and our best (our “tithe”) to God to further Kingdom work. And so, we give to the church so that families can be cared for, mission work can be supported, and the gospel can go forth in our community.
But we also give as an act of worship. When we cheerfully and sacrificially give, we express our dependence upon God to provide and our desire for his Kingdom to come. We consecrate
ourselves, our livelihoods, to the Lord so that we might think as He thinks, know what He knows, and live as He tells us to live.
Passages for further reading:
I Chronicles 29:1-22; 2 Corinthians 8 & 9

MISSIONS MOMENT | Jim & Kathy Carlson
Jim & Kathy are two of our long-term missionaries with ReachGlobal, the missionary arm of the Evangelical Free Church of America. Please join us in supporting them through prayer as they support international churches and communicate the need around the world to churches here in the States. Here's how you can be praying for them:
- Praise for the successful trip to India
- Pray as they transition from full time to retired staff roles with ReachGlobal, starting July 1st, 2025, including the administrative and logistical details for the mission work and their personal lives
- This spring, pray as they speak and present at missions conferences and churches
- Pray for the Paris team, which continues to grow outreach contacts
- Pray for pastors and more staff in international churches across Europe
- Pray for the Prayer Retreat at the end of March
Thank you for remembering our missionaries and one another in prayer this week.
